One evening as
Pastor Benjamin was walking home,
he heard a shrill as he stepped
on a piece of cardboard in his
path. After lifting the cardboard
to find out where this shrill
was coming from, Benjamin discovered
a small boy who was sleeping on
the streets. He offered to have
the young boy come home with him.
Over the next few days the boy
had notified his friends and soon
an orphanage was started, The
Jireh Children’s Center.
Recently Pastor Benjamin heard
of a young boy and girl that had
been mutilated, by having their
privates cut off and then murdered
and left by the side of the road,
while on their way to school.
This type of torture and action
is due to the belief in witchcraft
by many of the locals. Pastor
Benjamin decided to bring a school
to their village so the children
would be safe. He now has 95 children
at the village of Kyabaazaala.
Today, Jireh Ministries is taking
care of a total of 345 children
in two locations; the Jireh Children’s
Center in Masaka and the village
of Kyabazala. The majority are
orphans with the remaining number
attending the school and hoping
to have a meal.
Help the Jireh Children's Center
by making
a donation today or by participating
in a short
term or long
term mission trip.
